Obamacare has been saved yet again by the Supreme Court.
The Supreme Court ruled 6-3 Thursday that the subsidies under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act will stay.
The ruling upholds a major tenet of the health care law enabling millions of Americans to keep the tax subsidies that help them buy and afford health coverage under the law.
Bloomberg) — About 11.4 million people signed up for Obamacare or renewed their coverage for 2015, raising the possibility that enrollment may surpass the administration’s goal in the second year of the program.
The vast majority of PPACA enrollees are paying for their coverage — at least in part — with federal subsidies.
According to the latest enrollment data dump from the Department of Health and Human Services, 87 percent of of 2015 enrollees will receive some financial assistance. That’s a 7 percent jump over last year’s inaugural batch of exchange enrollees.
